Several fans are already resigned to the fact that most of the main characters will end up dead in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3. However, one theory suggests that two characters still have a trick up their sleeves. Is it possible that Theon Greyjoy and Bran Stark will figure out how to defeat the Night King?
In the previous episode, Bran Stark refused to go into the Winterfell crypt although everyone insisted it is the safest part of the castle. He then insisted that he will wait for the Night King at Godswood. It is then that Theon Greyjoy declared that he will guard Bran along with the Ironborn. After a long silence, Bran nodded in agreement.
The idea of Bran being out in the open is certainly a dangerous one considering that he is the Night King's target. However, a theory suggests that Bran and Theon might figure out a way to defeat the villain in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3.
The theory posted on Reddit claims that Bran might convince Theon to shoot him in the heart with a dragonglass arrow against one of the weirwood trees in Godswood. It's the same method that created the Night King in the first place and it could turn Bran into a White Walker who could take on the villain.
It's a sacrifice play that might rid them of the immediate threat but could also lead to an obvious consequence. By turning Bran into a White Walker, Theon could be creating a new Night King with terrifying powers. This new Night King will also have the powers of the Three-Eyed Raven and might be the one who can ensure that the Long Night actually happens.
It's certainly an outrageous theory that needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Either way, the idea of Theon and Bran being out in the open during the battle already has people fearing that both could die before the episode is over.
