Game Of Thrones Season 8 Theory Suggests Arya Stark Is Running From Lady Stoneheart

The official trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8 certainly has people talking. However, fans are most concerned about the first scene in the teaser. The trailer opens with Arya Stark running through the darkened hallways of Winterfell. But who, or what, had frightened the wounded Arya so badly?

Several fans have been wondering about that and it looks like there are more than just one figure chasing Arya down the hall. Two Reddit users decided to enhance the shots and confirmed that there are at least two people following Arya. Take a look at the photos below.

So who exactly is chasing Arya? Some are guessing that it could be a resurrected Littlefinger or even Samwell Tarly and Jaime Lannister. However, others have pointed out that these people are hardly anyone that Arya would be terrified of if they are ever turned into White Walkers. This led to speculations that Arya had initially encountered the corpse of a loved one being brought back to life.

The previous teaser for Game of Thrones Season 8 hinted at the Night King invading the Crypts of Winterfell which could mean that he could bring back the dead Starks. Since Ned Stark might not work too well considering that he was beheaded, this would be an interesting way to finally reintroduce Catelyn Stark as Lady Stoneheart.

In A Song of Ice and Fire, Lady Stoneheart leads the Brotherhood Without Banners along with Beric Dondarrion. Beric has been given a completely different storyline in the series so it's difficult to introduce Lady Stoneheart in the show. Nevertheless, a resurrected Catelyn would definitely scare the hell out of Arya even if she is holding a dragonglass dagger.

It's a plausible theory but it's still unclear if Lady Stoneheart will show up in the final season. For now, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Game of Thrones Season 8 airs on HBO on April 14.
