Game Of Thrones Season 8 Might Kill Another Lannister Other Than Cersei

The official trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8 has finally been dropped and although it was answered a few questions, it also created another mystery: Why is Cersei Lannister crying and who is she mourning for?

There are only two fleeting glimpses at Cersei in the trailer. She is shown when standing at the Red Keep when Bran Stark says, "Everything you did brought you where you are now. Home." In the first scene, she is shown smiling alongside Qyburn. However, the second sequence showing the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms is very different.

As Jon Snow talks about the White Walkers, it also appears that he is referring to Cersei. "Our enemy doesn't tire, doesn't stop, doesn't feel," he says. Interestingly, at the end of Jon's declaration, Cersei is shown shedding a tear as if she is mourning. Needless to say, it is untrue that the Queen doesn't have feelings at all.

But why is Cersei crying? Could it be because she has been defeated? Or is it because she is mourning the death of a loved one? There are speculations that Cersei might be weeping after learning that one of her brothers is dead.

It is highly unlikely that she would cry for Tyrion Lannister, her younger brother whom she hated since they were children. The most possible candidate might be Jaime Lannister, who had revealed in the trailer that he refuses to back down. "I promised to fight for the living," Jaime had said. "I intend to keep that promise."

If Jaime does meet his end in the final season, there's a possibility that he might die in the last episode. After all, it was previously revealed that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau had received a paycheck for all six episodes of Season 8. On the other hand, Jaime might survive and Cersei could be the only Lannister who will be killed in the series.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will premiere on HBO on April 14.
