Game Of Thrones Season 8 Could End With [SPOILERS] Death

We've just seen Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5 but people are already looking forward to the series finale. After all, the teaser for next week's episode features plenty of tension and a dark future for one particular character.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS! Proceed with caution!

In The Bells, it became clear that Daenerys Targaryen is determined to take King's Landing (and the Iron Throne) by force. As usual, Tyrion Lannister tried to talk her out of it but at this point, Daenerys is done with his many mistakes and has stopped listening to his advice. This becomes obvious when she ignored the ringing bells that signaled the city's surrender and continued to lay waste to King's Landing.

It's a terrifying move even from a woman who has proven she has no problem setting people on fire. However, her actions also led to the destruction of King's Landing, the place that was supposed to be her home many years ago. So what happens now that the place is in ruins and Daenerys has proven that she could be a truly violent ruler?

There are speculations that someone will need to step up and get Dany out of the way. In the season finale teaser, there are two people who appear to be planning something big. Tyrion Lannister looks terrified yet determined as he looks around King's Landing while Arya Stark appears to be watching Dany intently. Perhaps these two will work together to put Dany in her place.

Of course, there's another character who seems more likely to do something dramatic in the season finale. Jon Snow has yet to prove himself in Season 8 and he might finally do so in Episode 6. But what could possibly drive Jon to kill the woman he loves? We'll have to wait until next week to find out.

Perhaps things won't be so somber. There's still a chance that Dany will survive and turn out to be a great ruler after all. However, this is Game of Thrones and if you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

The Game of Thrones Season 8 finale will air on HBO on May 19.
