Game Of Thrones Season 8 Adds 22 More Minutes To Pivotal Episode 3 Runtime

People have been complaining about the questionable runtimes of the final six episodes of Game of Thrones. After all, a previous report has revealed that the first three episodes are a bit shorter than expected.

However, it looks like HBO is making sure that fans will get exactly what they're hoping for this April. The network has just confirmed the official runtimes and added 22 more minutes to the pivotal third episode of Game of Thrones Season 8.

It was previously reported that Episode 3 would only be 60 minutes long. However, Entertainment Weekly has provided an update on the official runtimes of the Game of Thrones Season 8 episodes. Check it out below.

Episode 801: 54 minutes
Episode 802: 58 minutes
Episode 803: 82 minutes
Episode 804: 78 minutes
Episode 805: 80 minutes
Episode 806: 80 minutes

This is certainly great news. After all, the third episode, which is directed by Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards' Miguel Sapochnik, features the infamous battle sequence that took 55 nights to shoot. We're not yet sure if the extra 22 minutes will be made up of intense battle sequences, but it's certainly a huge possibility at this point.

Not much is known about the third episode just yet but several cast members have teased that the Battle of Winterfell will happen early on in the final season. Needless to say, we are looking forward to the still-untitled episode next month.

Interestingly, the pivotal Episode 3 will air on April 28, which is the same weekend as the premiere of Avengers: Endgame. Are you ready for a truly bloody end of April?

Game of Thrones Season 8 premieres on HBO on April 14. Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.
