Filming for Game of Thrones may already be in full swing since different actors were spotted in Iceland for production of the seventh season. However, fans still have no concrete idea as to when exactly the show will be back on HBO.
The most that has been announced is that it will air sometime in summer, but that's a pretty big range by itself. Now, a new report suggests that one of the actors has finally given a hint of the month when that release will arrive.
Speaking to Independent, Liam Cunningham, who plays the role of Ser Davos in the series, suggests that this will happen earlier in the summer than what we've been expecting.
"I've been disappointing various people around the world because it was meant to come out in April. It's July now, I think. There's going to be a launch an something special happening this year for the premiere."
That last part of his statement is just as important take note of. Game of Thrones hasn't really released any special anything when it comes to marking its premiere episodes. Perhaps since it is the seventh season, and a shorter one at that, that the creators are looking to give more weight and attention to the premiere episode.
We'll have to wait for HBO's final confirmation for the date, but it's good to hear that they're targeting earlier summer for the premiere.
