Game of Thrones Ratings Reaches All Time High With Sunday’s ‘Book of the Stranger’

Game of Thrones ratings have peaked with Sunday's fourth episode of the current season titled Book of the Stranger.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the hit HBO series' ratings skyrocketed to 7.8 million viewers at 9 p.m., which is a close match to the season 6 premiere 7.9 million number.

Book of the Stranger reportedly carried a 3.9 rating with adults 18-49, likely making the show last week's top-rated scripted show in all of television. In a nutshell, Thrones season 6 had been at its strongest start in the show's history on Sunday nights.

That said, it's worth noting that HBO has subscribers instead of advertisers and the cable channel don't really care for broadcast and pay cable's 18-49 demo.

Nevertheless, the staggering numbers are astounding. Even former Thrones actor Jason Momoa, who played Daenerys Targaryen's now deceased husband Khal Drogo, expressed how impressed he was with the latest events in the series.
