Amber Heard turned out to be one of the best things about the first Aquaman film but fans of the DCEU have now gone sour on her and a lot of them are calling for her to be recast as Queen Mera in the sequel. Of course, this all stems from the fact that she was recently entangled in a messy legal battle with her former husband Johnny Depp, who has recently been ousted from his role in Fantastic Beasts 3.

The #FireAmberHeard movement has been going on since the issue of her domestic abuse first surfaced and should Amber be replaced by Warner Bros. or if she withdraws from the project (which doesn't seem to be the case, quite frankly), fans already have an actress in mind who they think can play Mera in Aquaman 2.

Emilia Clarke has been a strong contender amongst DCEU fans and a lot of them think she can do just as good of a job as Amber, if not better. Now, artist BossLogic is imagining the Game of Thrones star as Arthur Curry's love interest and confidante and I gotta say, she looks pretty darn convincing as Mera. Now, with new development regarding the issue which seemingly clears Amber's name and deems her innocent, all signs undoubtedly point to her DCEU return. Of course, expect a little backlash to go along with it and in case things get ugly, I wouldn't exactly complain if Emilia ended up replacing her in the project. After all, Clarke and Momoa have quite the history together which dates back to their days in Game of Thrones so the chemistry shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't count on it though as the studio looks pretty adamant about keeping Amber around and that is something we have to accept, whether we like it or not.

Aquaman 2 is in active development over at Warner Bros.
