Game of Thrones 8 Might Come Later Than Summer 2019

To compensate for the heightened production value, Game of Thrones8 had decided to skip a year, and release early 2019 instead. Now word has it that the show won't come out so early next year after all.

Visual Effects supervisor Joe Bauer tells The Huffington Post:

"We're going to be toiling away on Season 8 until May of 2019, so it's eight or nine months away. But the prequel is starting to shoot in February, at least the pilot. So we'll still have quite a lot to do on Season 8 when they're beginning."

Season Seven of Game of Thrones had already seen a delay for the same reason, but seeing that this is the finale season, everyone is expecting showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to up the ante. At best, we could be looking at a return of the show pretty much the same month that GoT 7 came out last year.

It's ridiculous how big Game of Thrones has gotten ever since its start back in 2011. HBO has been so pleased with the show that they're currently working on some spinoffs which could possibly take place thousands of years before the plot of the main series. As a fan, I'm just happy to see more of the world expand. Fingers crossed that we get great characters as fun as Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, or Daenerys Targaryen.

Game of Thrones 8 has no specific release date, but could come out late 2019.
