Game of Thrones 8 Confirmed for Release in First Half of 2019

In order to give proper time for huge production, Game of Thrones8 had decided to skip this year for a release date set for 2019. With the release date still a bit vague, we get an update that the series could release earlier next year.

According to Entertainment Weekly, HBO's programming president Casey Bloys confirms that the show is aiming for a release in the ‘First half' of 2019. Seeing that the show usually comes out in March and April, it would be a good bet that Season 8 will be released along those months.

The seventh season of Game of Thrones had already delayed a release back in 2017, coming out in July rather than the usual April. With a full year for development and production—plus only six episodes under its belt—a lot of people are expecting something massive for the final season.

Though some are sad to see Westeros go, HBO does have some spinoff series in the works. We don't know how far they will stem from the original story, but the lore and history is so rich there are several stories to choose from.

Game of Thrones 8 is set to come out in the first half of 2019.
