Gambit Might Begin Production Next Year

After numerous delays, it looks like Fox's Gambit movie is finally making some progress. The film already has a director in Gore Verbinski and Channing Tatum as the title star, with reports saying Lizzy Caplan is being eyed for the female lead. Now, it looks like production for the film will start next year and it will be set in New Orleans, where the character is from.

Omega Underground reports that Fix is eyeing a production shoot in the area from February till July. There's also a good chance that some of the film's scenes will be set in Paris, France to keep Bella Donna's origin in check as well. This could also be where the movie's major heist will take place, but that's merely speculation and nothing else.

The plan is to film Gambit from February to July so that the movie can come out by Valentine's Day 2019. Deadpool also came out during Valentine's Day, so this might be an intentional move from Fox. Gambit has always been defined by his romances with characters like Rogue, so releasing the film on Valentine's Day makes sense.

Gambit will hit theaters on February 14, 2019.
