Galaxy Quest TV Series is Coming To Amazon

For those of you who have been hoping for a Galaxy Quest movie reboot or sequel to happen, we got good news for you: Amazon Studios decided to develop a TV series based on the funny sci-fi comedy, EW reports.

No word yet if any of the original cast members will return to reprise their roles, but they'd probably hire younger actors for this series. The 1999 film starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell, Tony Shalhoub, and Daryl Mitchell. They played actors from a once popular science fiction Star Trek-like TV series who are abducted by aliens so that they could help them survive a sinister alien force, but the good aliens don't know that the show is fake.

Dean Parisot, who directed the original film, and co-writer Robert Gordon are both attached to develop the series. Parisot will direct the pilot episode.

That's great to know that the series is actually coming to Amazon. Are you going to watch it?
