Wonder Woman 1984 was supposed to come out last November, but WB had pushed the release back to June of next year. As it turns out, we may not have to wait too long for a trailer, as we could get something dropped this Sunday.
Check out this video Gal Gadot released teasing her appearance at CCXP Brazil:
While it isn't outright said that a trailer would be dropped, it's very likely that it would be the big reveal at the event. We've already gotten a lot of promo teaser images, and the next thing we need is a teaser. With the movie set to come out in June of next year, now's the right time to start a PR push; besides that, I think it's likely we'll get a new preview for Birds of Prey as well.
For now, the plot is still pretty vague for Wonder Woman 1984, but we do know a few things. We know that Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) will be brought back from the dead, but the ‘how' is still a big mystery. We also know that Kristen Wiig will be playing the role of Cheetah and Pedro Pascal has been cast in the part of Maxwell Lord. While Cheetah is being teased as the main adversary, I have a feeling Lord is going to be the ‘real' villain behind it all.
The first Wonder Woman was a phenomenal success, and a lot of pressure is on the sequel to deliver. Hopefully, DC is willing to come back to their original plans, seeing that #ReleaseTheSnyderCut has found some new fire. Of course, this is just wishful thinking on my part, but fingers crossed.
Catch Wonder Woman 1984 when it comes out June 5, 2020.
