With the Skywalker saga nearing to a conclusion on the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the franchise still has more to offer with trilogies and live-action series that are going to be launched in the upcoming streaming platform, Disney+.

Amidst the talks and reports regarding The Rise of Skywalker, a new rumor has come around, which involves Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot to be included in the franchise.

The Last Jedi's Rian Johnson and Game of Thrones creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff will each have their own Star Wars trilogy in the future. That being said, We Got This Covered reports that Gal Gadot is being eyed on for an original role in one of the upcoming Star Wars trilogies.

The project she might be included in is yet to be known but WGTC claims that Lucasfilm wants the actress to take a lead role. They also think that it is very likely for Gal Gadot to take the part of an original character, someone that they aren't familiar with within the franchise.

There are no definite reports as of now, and as always, we advise you to take these rumors with a grain of salt. Whether or not Gal Gadot is up for a role in the Star Wars franchise, it's certainly interesting to see what they come up with that will fit the actress the most. One thing's for sure, there are a lot of female leads that Lucasfilm will consider including in the future.

In the meantime, fans can look out for J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which premieres this December 20.
