Following James Gunn and Peter Safran's taking over of the DC franchise and the cancelation of Wonder Woman 3 under Patty Jenkins, there have been questions about whether Gal Gadot will continue playing Wonder Woman in the new DCU franchise.

Since Superman was recast with a new actor, all bets are off at the moment and there is a possibility that the other Justice League heroes in the DCEU will be played by new actors as well, especially since the films that were released this year bombed at the box office.

Now, as we're heading closer to the conclusion of the DCEU, we finally have the answer on Gadot's fate in the new DCU and it sounds like she will continue to whip the Lasso of Truth.

In an interview with, Gadot was asked about her future as Wonder Woman in the DCU where she revealed that she is developing a third Wonder Woman film with Gunn and Safran.

"I love portraying Wonder Woman. It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together," she said.

This is our first confirmation that she will continue playing the role in the DCU and it looks like we can still expect a third solo movie despite canceling Jenkins' project late last year.

Aside from this, DC Studios is also working on Paradise Lost, a political drama TV series that will center on the power struggles on the island of Themyscira before the birth of Wonder Woman. It was announced as part of the DCU's first chapter titled "Gods and Monsters."

This is certainly exciting news for fans who have been anxious to find out about Gal Gadot's future as Wonder Woman in the DCU and it is a sign that Gunn and Safran are taking an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach to the casting of some of the characters.

After all, they are also working on spinoffs of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker such as the Amanda Waller series with Viola Davis reprising the role which suggests that they will carry some parts of the DCEU to the reboot.
