Futurama Makes A Comeback For A Revival on Hulu

After almost a decade since the animated comedy Futurama signed off and closed the curtains, it is finally opening once more as it has been revived on Hulu, making a comeback for a 20-episode run on the streaming platform and followers of the show are excited to see how the show would be back for another streak.

The animated comedy of Matt Groening and David X. Cohen is finally coming back after almost ten years of hiatus as it finds a new home on Hulu and Futurama is really coming back as it returns to production this February eyeing for a 2023 release. The first five seasons of Futurama were aired on Fox while the next three were released on Comedy Central, making Hulu its third home now that it has been revived.

All of the original voice cast would return with Billy West as Fry, Katey Segal as Leela, along with Trees MacNellie, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, David Herman, and Maurice LaMarche now that they have an extended deal for the revival of the show. John DiMaggio who voices Bender is yet to finalize a deal to make his comeback, however, it has not been closed yet.

Futurama first aired in 1999 on Fox where it had five seasons until 2003 and it later made the jump on Comedy Central after five years of hiatus from 2008. It closed off its curtains in 2013. The show had a rerun on Adult Swim from 2003 to 2007 after the first cancellation by Fox.

Futurama follows a professional slacker, Fry, who was cryogenically preserved for a thousand years and he woke up in the 31st century where he goes to work in an interplanetary delivery company, and there, he met and worked with one-eyed Leela and the “shiny metal ass” Bender. The show was created by Matt Groening, the creative mind behind The Simpsons, and he brought with him David X. Cohen.

Futurama will be joining Hulu’s original animated series such as Animaniacs, Solar Opposites, and Crossing Swords. It would be on the streaming platform alongside adult animation staples such as Family Guy, South Park, Rick and Morty, and Bob’s Burgers.

Futurama is eyeing a comeback in 2023 on Hulu.
