This may sound a little too crazy to a lot of you but apparently, not everyone is excited about a potential live-action Spider-Verse film which would see Tom Holland team up with past Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. We reported last October that the MCU's one and only Spider-Man isn't too thrilled about the idea of working with both Maguire and Garfield. Although that one still remains a rumor, Tom's fans are expressing their displeasure over the possible crossover Spidey film.
Taking to Twitter, fans of Holland's vibrant and youthful version of the iconic Marvel superhero are demanding Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures to give him a proper solo trilogy. A lot of them are afraid that Maguire and Garfield's possible entry in Spider-Man 3 would only result in Holland being overshadowed when he should be getting all the spotlight. Check out some of the reactions below:
It looks to me like fans are threatened over Holland being potentially upstaged by his contemporaries but quite honestly, they don't have to feel that way. Tom Holland has already established himself as a phenomenal Spider-Man and there's really nothing left for him to prove. I've said this countless times before, if they don't pull the trigger on a live-action Spider-Verse, it'll surely be one of the biggest missed opportunities in comic book film history. It should happen not because it needs to but because it is what we deserve.
That said, Spider-Man 3 is slated for release in December 2021.
