The first full-length trailer of Dragon Ball Super: Broly was a truly impressive sight got fans of the beloved series. Broly's new design is amazing, the animation was fantastic, and it actually looks like a worthwhile addition to the series' main canon. As if that wasn't enough for fans, an article in Japan released a full synopsis for the film.
Admittedly, the synopsis doesn't reveal anything particularly new. It stated that the film is set sometime after the Tournament of Power and that Broly is a new Saiyan. Neither Vegeta or Freeza are familiar with the Saiyan brute, but they, along with Goku, will have to do battle with him.
Hopefully, we get more fan-favorite characters that participate in the battle. We know that Goku, Vegeta, Beerus, Whis, Freeza, and Piccolo will be in the film but no updates on Gohan, Gotenks, or the rest of the gang? Come on Toriyama.
Then again, the studio already has to rework Broly's story and work on Saiyan history a bit, so asking them to add more characters might be a bit much. Plus, we should be happy that this movie is going to look gorgeous and be canon to the series' timeline. Now if only we can go post-Z and see what happens after Goku meets Uub…
Dragon Ball Super: Broly comes to Japanese theaters on December 14. The West will get a dub from Funimation in January.
