Full Dive: This Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life!, Full Dive for short, is an ENGI-produced anime series with 12 episodes, single-cour, which follows the story of Hiroshi Yūki, under the name Hiro in his games. Hiroshi is a high school student who has got a liking for virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing games or VRMMORPGs.
Hiroshi went to a game store where the game store manager, Reona Kisaragi, forced him to purchase Kiwame Quest, a game. Hiroki tries it out and he discovers that the game has something more than being a game, it tries to pursue realism to an extreme degree. Hiroki struggles to create a position in the game and through the game, he gets to meet girls who want some things from him.
Inside the game, Hiroki realizes that being hit in the game would also translate into real pain which could result in wounds that would take some time to heal. The game cannot be casually played, and the reward is having a sense of accomplishment.
Full Dive: This Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life! is based on the Japanese light novel series of the same name with Light Tuchihi as the writer and Youta as the illustrator. It is published by Media Factory in 2020 under their MF Bunko J imprint. There is also a manga series for Full Dive by Kino which is published in Media Factory's seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive released this year.
