Frozen Composer will Provide Music for WandaVision

Besides The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Marvel is also working on the release of their second Disney+ series, WandaVision. We don't know much about the show as of now, but they just landed a new composer from the Disney side of the franchise.

Talking to the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers, Frozen's Christophe Beck has confirmed that he'll be providing the score for WandaVision. He says:

"One of the things that I'm most excited about that I have coming up in the next year is a Marvel miniseries for the new Disney+ streaming platform. It's called WandaVision. It features Scarlet Witch and Vision, two characters from the Avengers movies. I scored Ant-Man film and its sequel Ant-Man and The Wasp and have a great working relationship with Marvel. Really enjoy working with them and I'm really excited for this upcoming TV project which is very, very unique and special in a lot of ways."

Like Beck has confirmed, this isn't his first rodeo with Marvel, but this is the first miniseries that he'll be handling for the studio. He has a very seasoned resume as a composer, so I wouldn't be too worried when he's handling something like WandaVision.

What I'm curious about is the "sitcom" nature of the show, which is supposedly a way for the series to convey Wanda Maximoff's reality-warping powers. Maybe it needs bubbly, Disney-type music when we get those scenes, then it will transition into something more serious when Wanda starts to break.

Either way, I'm excited for the show, and I'm hoping that Disney+ opens up a new avenue for creativity with Marvel. I mean, sure everything has to be PG-13, but I guess that's part of the challenge. If anything, Marvel can probably just port their adult stuff into Hulu.

No release date has been set for WandaVision, but we should expect it to come out within the year on Disney+.
