Frighteningly Powerful Lightning Bolt Strikes Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

It looks like Emperor Palpatine has been wreaking havoc on the planet of Batuu.

There have been a lot of summer storms over in Florida the past few days and they've been producing quite a ferocious lightning display every evening, including in Walt Disney World. The sheer power of Mother Nature was caught on camera by a Star Wars fan on Twitter, and like the lightning bolt itself, the post has been blowing up on social media.

In the video, Star Wars fans get to see a massive lightning bolt striking one of the rods embedded throughout the taller points of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Walt Disney World's Star Wars theme park. The lightning bolt hits out of the blue with the camera flashing white and the audio going out because of its nearby impact.

It's an impressive and frightening display of power.

Luckily, no one was hurt during the video taking. Property at Galaxy's Edge was left safe from the hands of the Sith as well.

In other Disney news, Walt Disney World has decided to modify its hours of operation in a new schedule that's going to take effect next month, September 8. It's been a month since the House of Mouse decided to reopen the park in Florida, however, it seems like the novel coronavirus continues to impact Walt Disney World with low park attendance.

Disney reopened Walt Disney World with staggered opening times and required reservations in July to manage crowds and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
