There are lots of must-watch titles in the Fall 23 anime season, but based on discussions online, it seems Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is becoming one of the main highlights thanks to its breathtaking visuals and unique story.

It also helps that the show’s Japanese voice cast features plenty of popular names. To start, the protagonist, Frieren, is voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki, the well-known VA who is best known as Anya Forger in Spy x Family.

She is joined by Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury in Gundam: Witch from Mercury) as Fern, as well as Chiaki Kobayashi (Mash Burnedead in Mashle) as Stark.

For the anime’s English dub, the cast is also composed of well-known VAs. The five main dub VAs include:

  • Mallorie Rodak (Elinalise in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) as Frieren
  • Jill Harris (Yuzuriha in Hell’s Paradise) as Fern
  • Chris Guerrero (Ainz Ooal Gown in Overlord) as Eisen
  • Jason Douglas (Beerus in Dragon Ball Super) as Heiter
  • Clifford Chapin (Conny Springer in Attack on Titan) as Himmel

As Stark will only make his debut in Episode 5, there’s no word yet on his English VA.

Many anime English dubs get released with a delay of a few weeks to a month. Some shows even get English dub releases only after the anime has ended its run in Japanese.

Thankfully, Frieren fans who want to watch the show in English will only be delayed by a bit under two weeks. That’s because the first four episodes of the show will be available today on Crunchyroll in English.

As Frieren is a two-cour anime, the Japanese version will air until March 2024. It’s expected that the English dub version will also be released with no breaks.

With the English dub premiering today, fans who started watching in Japanese can expect the next episode to be released tomorrow on Crunchyroll with English subtitles.
