Fortnite's Avengers: Infinity War Crossover Will Feature Thanos

And fans thought the John Wick crossover was weird. Well, this has topped it. Fortnite has announced that there will be an Avengers: Infinity War crossover event and it will be a limited time mashup, as the promotional image below implies. This is seriously one of the odder crossover gaming events in recent memory but it could be a lot of fun.

Joe Russo told Entertainment Weekly how the crossover came to be, pointing out how he and brother/co-director Anthony are big fans of the multiplayer shooter. He said that Fortnite was a game they would play when taking breaks from editing Infinity War and presumably directing the fourth Avengers film.

For a limited time, Fortnite will have an Infinity Gauntlet mode. It still plays like standard Fortnite but with the possibility of the Gauntlet being dropped into the environment. Players who get it will literally become Thanos and can reign destruction on their foes, which should be a sight to see.

Thanos hasn't been playable in too many games, outside of mobile titles like Contest of Champions and Marvel Future Fight, as well as the Marvel vs Capcom series, most recently appearing in Infinite. While those games used the Mad Titan well, this game could really make him feel like the cosmic being that he truly is.

Fortnite is free-to-play and can be downloaded now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and iOS.
