Former Star Wars Director Josh Trank Reacts to Possibly Working on The Mandalorian Season 2

There was a time when Josh Trank was supposed to direct a movie that would focus on Boba Fett. However, that project has been scrapped and turned into what is now the wildly successful Star Wars series The Mandalorian that will soon be introducing Fett in the second season. But is there any chance that the Fantastic Four director would consider directing an episode of the Disney+ show? Interestingly, Trank isn't eager to jump back into the Star Wars franchise just yet.

Trank recently spoke to Schmoedown Entertainment Network where he was asked if he might be interested in directing Fett's return in The Mandalorian Season 2. Interestingly, the filmmaker admitted that he isn't in a rush to return to Star Wars right now.

"I want the hype to fade out a little bit so that I can be in a little more quiet head space while watching it after being associated with [Star Wars] for a long time," Trank said. However, it's a thrilling idea for him.

"I mean, I don't know. Dude, if Dave Filoni or somebody over there called me up and was just like, 'Hey, Trank, wouldn't this be funny if you…?' I'd have to be a lunatic, I'd be a true lunatic, an actual, certifiable lunatic to not take him up on that," Trank said. On the other hand, he was quick to point out that it's an unlikely scenario.

"But, I don't personally see that playing out. I can't imagine why they would want to do that, because they just have so much at stake, and I think that they're doing all the right moves," Trank concluded.

We can't really blame Trank for being wary of the franchise after his previous experience. Nevertheless, it would be cool to see him involved with the show in the future.
