Yesterday may have been April Fool's Day, but today is when DC decides to put the spotlight on the Clown Prince of Crime. Just in we have our first look at the Joker poster, and what's cool is, we also have a teaser trailer incoming tomorrow.
Check it out:
Based on the image we see of Joaquin Phoenix in the poster, it looks like this will be his final Joker look in the film. We've already had a good look at his Joker thanks to set photos and promos, but this one actually has a black line outlining the "smile" and that's something that wasn't in previous photos.
It's interesting that DC would choose to drop the Joker teaser tomorrow, seeing that this week will see the release of Shazam!. Some guessed that we would be getting the trailer after April 5, but I guess I'm still hyped up for both movies as it is, so it isn't really a problem.
With all the DCEU films getting delayed and cancelled, I'm just hoping that 2019 becomes a good year for the franchise. After the debacle that was Justice League, I'm eager to see some superheroes in the big screen that aren't from the MCU.
Joker centers around the iconic arch-nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. The exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
Catch Joker in theaters Oct. 4.
