First Official Monster Hunter Movie Image Isn't What Fans Were Expecting

Fans don't exactly have high hopes for the upcoming Monster Hunter movie from Paul WS Anderson. The man's track record isn't that great since he helped make all of the Resident Evil movies, which weren't exactly faithful to the video games. Those that were trying to be a bit optimistic about it might not feel that way anymore after an official image has been released.

We get our first look at Sergeant Marshall, one of the film's lead characters, and he does not look like a Monster Hunter. To be fair, the character is from a special ops group that gets sucked into the world of the games but the fact that he's a central part of the flick is going to annoy some. Milla Jovovich also plays a big role and only fans of the Resident Evil films are happy about that.

Admittedly, we're all willing to be surprised and this could end up being a fun monster movie that fans end up enjoying. There are even those that enjoy the Resident Evil movies since they had more than four installments. That means someone must have liked paying to watch those films. This could also mean that we'll get a lot of Monster Hunter movies, for better or worse.

Worried fans can always engross themselves with the PS4 game Monster Hunter: World or the re-released Monster Hunter: Generations on the Nintendo Switch. Chances are, those games will be a lot better than the movie.

Monster Hunter is currently aiming for a 2020 release.
