First Look at the New Bat-Symbol for Matt Reeves' The Batman

Set for release next year, Matt Reeves' The Batman is expected to have a darker take on the Dark Knight, exploring the character's earlier days in donning the cowl and cape. Fans were given a glimpse of Robert Pattinson's Batman in a camera test previously shared by the director, and in a new patent filing by DC Comics, we get a first look at the new Bat-Symbol to be used in the movie.

DC Comics recently filed a trademark for the new Bat-Symbol. The all-black silhouette is similar to that of the metal logo spotted on Pattinson's Batsuit. You can check it out below!

Of course, it's expected that this new Bat-Symbol will appear on various tie-in merchandise that's to come as the release of The Batman gets closer. Aside from seeing the iconic symbol ahead of the film, fans are also looking forward to getting more The Batman content in the upcoming DC FanDome event. It's uncertain whether it'll be a teaser, a photo, or plot info, regardless, it's ought to get us excited. You can check out the full patent application here.

Alongside Pattinson, The Batman stars Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and more. The film is set for release in October 2021.
