First Look at Taika Waititi as Hitler in his Next Movie, Jojo Rabbit

After the success of Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi is coming back to form with a satire film set in WW2 called Jojo Rabbit. In the film he plays an imaginary version of Adolf Hitler, and we have our first look at him along with star Scarlett Johansson.

The story of the film is said to be about a young boy (Roman Griffin Davis) who discovers that his mother is harboring a fugitive Jewish girl. The boy is also said to have imaginary conversations with an imaginary version of Hitler who is played by Taika Waititi.

I love the premise, and having Waititi play Hitler would just be hilarious onscreen. Sure WW2 is a touchy subject, but with Waititi's speciality with happy/sad cinema, I'm sure Jojo Rabbit is going to be filled with some heart and genuinely funny moments.

Here's a BTS photo with Waititi poking fun at the MCU:

Though a lot of people liked Thor: Ragnarok, as a fan of Waititi, I would have much preferred his work on more independent films. Hopefully Jojo Rabbit will give us some of that classic Waititi charm.

No release date has been set for Jojo Rabbit, but the film could probably come out sometime next year.
