First Look at Solo's Alden Ehrenreich as John the Savage in Brave New World

Alden Ehrenreich may not be returning as Han Solo anytime soon, but he is going to play another futuristic rogue in the upcoming adaptation of Brave New World. We don't have any official promos for the show, but some photos have come out online that have Ehrenreich in costume.

Ehrenreich is set to play the role of ‘John the Savage' who comes to be a foil character to the likes of Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne. It's funny that he should be playing the foil here since Han Solo himself is the foil of Luke Skywalker when it comes to Star Wars.

This is also just my own note but is John going to have orange earphones here because that's somewhat very derivative of Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy.

"Brave New World" imagines a utopian society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself. As citizens of New London, Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne have only ever known a rigid social order, a perfect pharmaceutical called Soma, and a culture of instant gratification and ubiquitous sex. Curious to explore life beyond the strictures of their society, the two New Worlders embark on a vacation to the Savage Lands, where they become embroiled in a harrowing and violent rebellion. Bernard and Lenina are rescued by John the Savage (Ehrenreich), who escapes with them back to New London.

Besides the status of the novel as a classic, Ehrenreich is probably the biggest draw of Brave New World. While I'm happy that he found work on this show, I'm still crossing my fingers that he comes back as Han Solo for a Solo series soon. As it stands, the last solid movie from Lucasfilm is now Solo: A Star Wars Story. No amount of fanservice is going to make up for the mess that was The Rise of Skywalker.

No release date has been set for Brave New World, but the series is expected to come out either this year or 2021.
