First Look at James McAvoy in IT: Chapter Two

Besides starring in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, James McAvoy is going to be playing the adult Bill in the sequel of 2017's IT reboot. Just in, director Andy Muschietti shares this first official image of McAvoy in the film.

Besides McAvoy, the movie is also set to star Bill Hader (Richie), Jessica Chastain (Bev), Jay Ryan (Ben), James Ransone (Eddie), Andy Bean (Stanley), and Isaiah Mustafa (Mike). Of course, we're also going to have Bill Skarsgard returning as Pennywise the Clown, plus the young cast from the first film is also expected to make an appearance.

As for the story of the film, this will follow the Losers Club 27 years later as they are once again terrorized by Pennywise. Seeing that the first movie took some liberties with the story, I'm interested to see how this sequel is going to change things, especially since the adult part of the book is considered one of less popular parts. Seeing Muschietti's work with the first movie though, I'm hopeful he manages to pull this sequel off. What are the odds we could be getting a third chapter focusing on the Losers' kids this time around?

With the film set to come out September, we could be looking at our first preview for IT: Chapter Two anytime soon. I guess the film just has to wait for the hype of Avengers: Endgame to die down before beginning promotion.
