Christopher Nolan is probably one of the most celebrated modern filmmakers today, and he doesn't need to make a movie based on a comic to get promising box office numbers. His next upcoming film has been titled Tenet, and we have some new images of stars John David Washington and Robert Pattinson.

Rumor has it that the movie will be something close to James Bond with some elements of time travel. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Nolan pretty much confirms the espionage element but teases that they're going to be crossing multiple other genres. He also teases this as one of the most ambitious movies in his career. Counting that he's done amazing work with films like The Prestige, Inception, and The Dark Knight, I'm curious what ‘ambitious' means to Nolan.

Besides Pattinson and Washington, the movie will also have appearances from Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), and Kenneth Branagh (Dunkirk). And since this is a Christopher Nolan film, we should also expect roles for Michael Caine as well as Cillian Murphy.

We don't have an official synopsis for Tenet as of now, but it has been teased to be a big action movie. With the first look just dropped, it's likely we could get a trailer before the year ends, or maybe some time at the start of January. Then again, that's just my speculation.

Tenet is set for a release on July 17, 2020.
