Have you been hoping for some updates on Morbius? It looks like the upcoming Sony film is well into post-production and the first image of Jared Leto as the terrifying Living Vampire has surfaced online.
The photo has been leaked on Twitter and it depicts Leto as the scary side of his blood-sucking character. Check it out below.
It's an impressive depiction of Morbius and it looks like the upcoming film is sticking really close to the source material. So far, we only have a glimpse but we can't wait to see more of Leto's transformation in the near future.
Morbius will follow Leto's Michael Morbius, a young biochemist who is trying to look for a cure for his rare blood disease. Unfortunately, his research somehow leads him to contract vampirism, which endangers everyone around him.
The film will also star former Doctor Who actor Matt Smith as Loxas Crown, a friend of Morbius who suffers from the same disease. Good Omens actress Adria Arjona has been cast as Morbius' fiancee Martine Bancroft while The Expanse's Jared Harris will portray Morbius' mentor. Tyreese Gibson will also appear in the movie as Simon Stroud, the FBI agent who investigates Morbius' case. Interestingly, Gibson is signed on to three films with Sony.
For now, it is unclear if Morbius will feature Spider-Man or Venom although fans believe that Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock will have a surprise cameo in the movie. However, this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.
Morbius is scheduled for release on July 31.
