Firefly's Alan Tudyk Officially Confirmed as Joker Voice for Harley Quinn Animated Series

Alan Tudyk is a fan-favorite actor amongst us geeks, with a lot of us enjoying him in Firefly and Star Wars: Rogue One. It's always a joy seeing him get work somewhere so fans were hyped when it was rumored that he would be the Joker in DC Universe's upcoming Harley Quinn animated series. Seems like that it's no longer a rumor as Diedrich Bader, who will voice Batman in the series, has confirmed working with Tudyk.

Bader spoke with Discussing Film and revealed that he had several recording sessions with the Firefly actor, claiming that he is a very funny interpretation of the character. While fans enjoy the sadistic side of the villain, having him actually be funny is a big part of what makes him appealing and it's nice to know that Tudyk achieves that.

It's often hard to compare Joker performances, with many claiming the best is either Mark Hamill of Star Wars fame or Heath Ledger after The Dark Knight. There are also a few who enjoy Jack Nicholson's interpretation, which seems to be directly influenced by the comics. Only time will tell if Tudyk joins that illustrious group of actors.

Starring Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) in the title role, Harley Quinn follows the DC antiheroine fresh from her break-up with The Joker, as she sets out to score a place on the Legion of Doom. The series is being targeted to debut in October 2019 on the DC Universe streaming app.
