Fire Force was adapted into an anime by David Production. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine and can be collected into 30 tankobon volumes as of this writing. Kodansha USA got the license to release the manga in English in North America.
The first season aired from July to December 2019. It was followed by a second season in July 2020 and finished in December of the same year. Since then, fans have been waiting for the third installation of the series.

David Production confirmed that Fire Force will have another season but the release date is still unknown. It appears that the production is delayed considering that the pandemic is still going on. With this, fans will have to wait for other further updates regarding the upcoming season including the trailer, release date, and episodes.
Fans have speculated that if season 1 premiered in 2019 and season 2 was released in 2020, there is a chance that season 3 will be released in 2021. But considering that we are already halfway through 2021, there is a possibility that the anime was pushed back to 2022.
For the plot, it appears that the upcoming season will cover until volume 30. This could also mean that it will be the last season for the series. In season 2, it was shown that the Fire Force is up against the Evangelist. They have formed an alliance that faces the Knights of the Ashen Flame.
About Fire Force
For those who are deciding whether they should watch Fire Force or not, the series follows Shinra Kusakabe. He is a third-generation pyrokinetic youth who joined the Special Fire Force Company 8. His mother died in the fire and that same incident was a cover for his younger brother, Sho, to be taken by a doomsday cult called White Clad. Shinra discovered this after joining Company 8 and his goal, along with his allies, is to defeat the White Clad.
