Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is finally here and it is, as Twitter Kylo Ren puts it, a lot. However, that doesn't mean that the last film in the Skywalker Saga has forgotten its roots. The final poster for Episode IX has just paid tribute to the movie that started it all.
The new poster was shared by the official Star Wars Twitter account and it's just a simple image but it's an amazing blast to the past. Check it out below.
See, there's nothing to see here but text. However, the same font was actually used for the first poster for A New Hope, which was then referred to as Star Wars.
The poster's message is also a sad reminder that the Skywalker Saga has officially ended. However, just like A New Hope, it concluded on a positive note as we realize that we could see more of Rey in the future. SPOILERS AHEAD, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
A New Hope first introduced Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo but they also played a major role in The Rise of Skywalker. Leia's unfortunate passing distracted Kylo Ren long enough for Rey to deliver the critical blow but also moved the girl to heal the wound. Ben Solo would later see Han, who somehow convinced him to give up the Kylo persona. Finally, Luke was the one who guided Rey to continue fighting.
It's all too depressing indeed. We're sad that the Skywalker Saga is over but we're also looking forward to new Star Wars films in the future.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
