Square Enix has announced that a mobile MMORPG is in development, and it's set in the same universe as Final Fantasy XV.
Developed by Chinese company GAEA Mobile and South Korean studio JSC Games, Final Fantasy XV Mobile is set in a parallel world to the mainline of the console game, Kultur reports (via Kotaku). The MMORPG begins right after Noctis' story begins in the main original game, and it will feature new regions not found in the main title.
The game was developed in Unreal Engine 4, and the developers reportedly plan to bring FFXV's flashy action to the mobile platform, using touch-screen controls.
The Final Fantasy XV Mobile is expected to have a global release but it will be released in China first. The trailer and release details are expected to come within the first half of this year.
