Final Fantasy VIII's Rinoa is Coming to Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Square Enix has revealed the latest character joining Dissidia Final Fantasy NT and she is a fan-favorite amongst the roster, or at least to those who started playing the franchise back in 90's. Anyway, Rinoa Heartilly from Final Fantasy VIII is officially coming to the game as part of the initial season pass lineup.

Rinoa has a number of long-ranged attacks, often switching the type of offensive magic she will be using on enemies. It's clear that she's meant to be used as a long-range fighter since the video barely shows off her close-combat skills, which probably aren't that impressive.

Heartilly will be added to both the arcade version in Japan and the PS4 game. She will be part of the former this month, while she makes her PS4 debut at the end of August. Expect a free update that will inform those who bought the season pass when a new character can be used.

For those that didn't grow up with an original PlayStation, Final Fantasy VIII was considered to be a pretty good game at the time. These days people often argue about its quality but there's no denying that it left an impact on the franchise, so it's good seeing some characters from the game appear here.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
