The new horror movie, Immaculate, tests the faith of its viewers. But more than that, it adds a psychological aspect to the movie. With the reveal that Father Sal was a scientist in Immaculate, we can't help but wonder how will that affect his role as a priest.

Who is Father Sal in Immaculate?
If Father Sal in Immaculate looks familiar to you, that's because he's a famous Spanish actor who was in Money Heist.
Álvaro Morte stars in Immaculate as Father Sal Tedeschi. In Money Heist, he played the brilliant mastermind of the heist, nicknamed The Professor.
In addition to Money Heist and Immaculate, Morte also starred in Mirage and The Wheel of Time.
This time around, Morte plays a priest in this psychological horror film.
Was Father Sal a Scientist in Immaculate?
After accepting Father Sal's invitation to join an exclusive Italian convent, Sister Cecilia (played by Sydney Sweeney) opens up about her faith.
She tells Father Sal that she fell into a frozen lake, declared dead for seven minutes, yet managed to survive. She reveals that she believes God spared her life for a reason.
With her confession, Father Sal reveals to Sister Cecilia that he, too, was a scientist before he joined the Church.
Despite this, he promises she'll know the reason soon.
Considering that these two worlds do not coincide, it makes you wonder why Father Sal was a scientist in Immaculate.
What is Father Sal's Secret?
It seems like he cannot separate his past as a scientist with priesthood. After learning she is pregnant, Sister Cecilia reaches her third trimester with several mysterious events.
As she tries to escape, Father Sal confesses to her that her pregnancy was not the result of immaculate conception. Instead, Father Sal was responsible for impregnating her using a genetic concoction he had worked on for years.
Using one of their church's most prized possessions, a stake that was said to contain Jesus' DNA, Father Sal was able to extract DNA.
He then worked on perfecting the concoction that would successfully yield offspring.
Sister Cecilia discovers a locked room full of jarred fetuses, which shows he has been doing this for a long time.
