Fantastic Beasts 2 Featurette Shows Off New Creatures

October is almost done and with November comes the release of Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Despite the title putting Johnny Depp's character in the spotlight, the film also promises to bring us some new magical creatures. WB has just released this new featurette focusing on the film's fantastic beasts.

The newest faces we see are the kelpie, an underwater horse by the looks of it, and a creature from China which looks like it jumped straight out of an ancient painting. The animal is said to be called a ZouWu, and it does this thing with its mane that looks a lot like fireworks.

Besides new creatures, we also get to see some familiar faces in the sequel. It seems that the franchise is doubling down on cute characters as we get Newt's pet bowtruckle Pickett as well as the niffler from the first movie. This time around, the niffler has had kids, and they will be out causing more mayhem for Newt and the gang.

Though I love how Fantastic Beasts is an expansion of the Wizarding World, I thought the first movie was a tad forgettable. Maybe it's just me, but I think the franchise needs a lot more time to grow on the audience. With Harry Potter having all these clever twists and turns, I think J.K. Rowling needs to step up her game when it comes to expanding the world of Newt and the old-timey wizards.

Catch Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald when it hits theaters Nov. 16.
