Ever since the first Captain Marvel trailer showed off a fully-powered Carol Danvers with her hair up, fans immediately made comparisons between the binary form and the Super Saiyan transformation from Dragon Ball Z. That's not all either, as first looks at the Skrulls also gave fans war flashbacks to Dragon Ball: Evolution since the green-skinned aliens look like Piccolo from that terrible movie.
The movie is now showing in theaters and fans have not stopped making the comparisons. In fact, it seems like they've only strengthened since they seem to be everywhere, which is fun. Fans are having a ton of fun with these memes and it's easy to see why, so let's hope they continue since it's good-natured fun.
Goku and Carol don't have a lot in common sadly, so trying to make a witty paragraph about their similarities would be pointless. Carol has experience as a member of the air force and a Kree soldier while Goku never went to school, fought in tournaments, and made friends out of his enemies. At least they both saved the world? We'll take that.
Dragon Ball and Marvel might not have much in common but they are clearly inspired by one another. Carol's binary form looks so much like a Super Saiyan and Dragon Ball Super once rotoscoped the scene where Hulk smashed Loki like a newspaper in The Avengers.
Captain Marvel is now showing in theaters. Dragon Ball Super: Broly will be coming to Blu-Ray soon.
