Fans Criticize the MCU Phase 4 After Recent Releases

Marvel Studios is adding more content in Phase 4, with several projects having been released in theaters and on Disney+ this past 18 months. Even though a lot of those projects are receiving positive results, several MCU fans are starting to criticize the MCU’s Phase 4 for its increased output compared to its quality.

After the MCU Phase 3 delivered a massive scale with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, a lot of expectations were soaring very high, especially following a delay of 18 months due to the pandemic. Since the release of MCU projects restarted in early 2021, the fans' reactions have varied for both the TV shows and the movies.

Granted that there have been several fan-favorite projects like Spider-Man: No Way Home and WandaVision, there have also been some projects that haven’t received the same reactions, such as the What If…? series and Eternals.

The variation of reviews from the fans continues as more MCU Phase 4 projects get released, as Ms. Marvel on Disney+ is currently near the end, and Thor: Love and Thunder will be released soon in theaters. In the past few days, some fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the MCU’s Phase 4, some praise the projects being released, while some do not.

A lot of Marvel fans took to Twitter to share some of their criticisms about Phase 4 f the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with others sharing their comments on the Ms. Marvel series as well as the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film.

The MCU certainly has had its ups and downs over the years, with nearly three dozen movies and several TV shows, there are bound to be some projects that might not fit some fans.

While the complaints of the fans are an important thing to consider, Marvel still continues to work through a new phase of filmmaking in a post-pandemic world. Several advances in technology like The Volume still affect how TV shows and movies are made, and Marvel has made an effort to let its filmmakers do what they do more than in the past years.

The first five episodes of Ms. Marvel are available to stream on Disney+, while the Thor: Love and Thunder film is set to be released worldwide on July 8, 2022.
