Fallout 76 is NOT Going Free-to-Play Despite Rumors

Fallout 76 continues to be a hot mess of online gaming, despite numerous updates made to make the experience better. While most of Bethesda's Fallout games start out buggy, they're usually still playable and far from game-breaking, unlike 76 unfortunately. Due to the backlash that the game has received, rumors started circulating about the game possibly going free-to-play.

This caused a lot of fans to be upset and complain directly to the publisher. Thankfully, fans who were pissed about spending money on the game have nothing to worry about as Bethesda has denied that the game is going free-to-play.

Now, if only Fallout 76 was a good game.

Other failed multiplayer titles have gone the free-to-play route, such as Evolve. That game had a lot of hype and failed to live up to it, with a number of that game's fun locked behind the season pass. Making the game full-price made the season pass feel like a rip-off, so making it free-to-play didn't exactly make things better.

In fairness to Bethesda, the studio is still updating Fallout 76 and trying to make it a playable title. Granted, they have yet to succeed but they aren't giving up. The studio really shouldn't have rushed this game's release but here we are now.

Fallout 76 is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
