It's almost the end of October which means that we're getting closer to the release of Bethesda's Fallout 76. The game is expected to come out in a few weeks, and the studio has released a new live-action trailer set to the tune of The Beach Boys' Wouldn't It Be Nice.
Though the concept of a nuclear apocalypse is horrific in reality, Bethesda has somehow mastered the way making the world look fun. The first trailer for the game was set to John Denver's Take Me Home, Country Roads and Fallout 4's Wanderer trailer also had the same upbeat feeling.
With Fallout 76, it's said that the player will fill in the shoes of a citizen from Vault 76, a specialized vault which was designed to house the best and brightest minds from the nuclear apocalypse. This is said to serve as a prequel to the entire franchise and will have players attempt to rebuild society in the face of the Wasteland.
With the last Fallout game coming out in 2015, some feel that this is Bethesda's spiritual successor to Fallout: New Vegas. Though graphics look pretty standard for a Bethesda game, I think 76's winning qualities will ultimately boil down to story and gameplay. The Wasteland is just a world with very rich lore, and it's fascinating to see what kind of stories we're going to find with this new addition to the franchise.
Fallout 76 hits shelves Nov. 14 and will be playable for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
