Fairy Tail fans finally have a new anime to look forward to. That’s because the Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest anime got a release date window in a new teaser trailer.
This upcoming anime isn’t just a spin-off. Instead, it’s a proper sequel to Hiro Mashima’s hit series. What’s more, it also features the return of Team Natsu.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Anime Announced with New Teaser Trailer
The new Fairy Tail anime’s premiere was revealed in a new teaser trailer that features the show’s main characters, including Natsu, Lucy, and more.
Even though it doesn’t have actual clips from the anime, the teaser does hint at the updated looks of the main cast.
While the original Fairy Tail manga’s story ended in July 2017, the story continued with the 100 Years Quest manga, which serves as a sequel set after the original manga’s finale.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Cast and Staff Revealed
As this new anime features returning characters, fans will be happy to know that the original voice cast members are also coming back.
The confirmed voice cast members include:
- Tetsuya Kakihara (Simon in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) as Natsu Dragneel
- Aya Hirano (Misa Amane in Death Note) as Lucy Heartfilia
- Rie Kugimiya (Taiga Aisaka in Toradora!) as Happy
- Yuichi Nakamura (Tetsuro Kuroo in Haikyuu) as Gray Fullbuster
- Sayaka Ohara (Ouzen in Made in Abyss) as Erza Scarlet
- Satomi Sato (Ritsu Tanaka in K-On!) and Yui Horie (Wiz in KonoSuba) as Wendy and Charle
As for the studio, the 100 Years Quest anime is being produced by J.C.Staff, the studio behind popular anime like DanMachi, Food Wars!, and One-Punch Man seasons 2 and 3.
Directing the anime is Toshinori Watanabe (of Edens Zero fame), and he is joined by Atsuhiro Tomioka, who is in charge of the scripts.
Meanwhile, the Fairy Tail director Shinji Ishihira is also back, but this time as the chief director.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Gets July Release Date Window
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest is set to be released in July 2024. For now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date. The premiere date will likely be revealed a month before its release.
There’s also no word yet on where this new anime will be streamed outside of Japan. Considering that the original Fairy Tail is available to stream on Crunchyroll, it’s likely that the sequel will also be streamed there.
