Ezra Miller's future in the DC Extended Universe might soon be over. A new report suggests that Warner Bros. has decided to drop the troubled actor following recent controversies. It was even suggested that the studio will still fire Miller even when the scandals die down even before the premiere of The Flash next year.
It's no secret that Ezra Miller has been involved in a lot of controversies in the past. The most recent one was the alleged harassment of a non-binary teenager Tokata Iron Eyes whose parents have asked a judge to issue an order of protection against the actor on behalf of their child Iron Eyes' parents alleged that Miller groomed and brainwashed Tokata and claimed that the actor gave their child alcohol and drugs.
Miller is now being viewed as Warner Bros.' new problem child but the studio seems to be staying silent amidst all the controversies. However, that doesn't mean that the issue isn't being discussed in private. Sources reportedly told Deadline that WB is already preparing to fire Ezra Miller after the release of The Flash.
"Even if no more allegations surface, the studio won’t likely keep Miller in the Flash role in future DC films," the report claims. Either way, it looks like Warner Bros. has already given up on the film and is just hoping to get it over with as soon as possible.
The Flash is one of DCEU's delayed projects that had been in development hell for several years now. Needless to say, Warner Bros. seems determined to release the film by next year, but it could still face some problems in the next few months. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti and will also star Ron Livingston, Michael Keaton, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Sasha Calle, and Ben Affleck. It is set for theatrical release on June 23, 2023.
