After Kang Tae Oh’s newfound fame, catapulting him to another level of stardom, in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, he enlisted for mandatory military service. Though it didn’t give him a chance to spend more time with his new fans, he recently gave a major update about his time in the army.

Kang Tae Oh started his military service after the end of Extraordinary Attorney Woo. After just almost a month, he revealed how he was doing by dropping a new photo of him.

Kang Tae Oh’s Military Service Update

The 28-year-old star receives basic military training at the 37th Division's recruit training center in Jeungpyeong-gun, North Chungcheong Province, starting on September 20. He’s now on his third week of national duty, and his unit took a photo to celebrate this feat.

The image is said to be a commemorative photo showing the actor and fellow trainees.

Kang Tae Oh looks good as ever but manlier this time as he wears his military uniform. He’s sitting Indian style while directly looking at the camera with a subtle smile and straight body.

With his Extraordinary Attorney Woo fame, he’s now one of the most anticipated actors to return to the spotlight after completing his military service.

Kang Tae Oh’s Enlistment Operation

Before Kang Tae Oh officially enlisted, he posted a photo of himself with a short haircut on September 19 on Instagram a day before his enlistment.

“I thank everyone for their support and abundant love. I will return bravely,” he wrote in the caption. “See you soon.”

As expected, fans and fellow celebrities left encouraging words in the image’s comment section.

“Return safely,” Ahn Bo Hyun said, “Chestnut, return well!!!” Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung added.

The Announcement of Kang Tae Oh’s Enlistment

Kang Tae Oh’s agency, Man of Creation, announced its star’s enlistment on September 15.

“Kang Tae Oh will enter the 37th division recruit training center located in Jeungpyeong County of North Chungcheong Province on September 20,” it stated. “Kang Tae Oh will carry out all of his scheduled activities before September 20. Please show warm support for Kang Tae Oh who will return after diligently carrying out his mandatory duties.”

The Run On star’s training will not include any special events. He will receive basic training for four weeks and serve as an active-duty soldier for 18 months.

Kang Tae Oh is expected to be discharged on March 19, 2024.
