Star Wars Celebration is almost here, and a lot of fans are eagerly waiting for the first preview for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Though fans are already expecting something a bit short like the first teaser for The Force Awakens, it's possible that Lucasfilm will be screening something a bit more substantial.
Star Wars News Net just posted this description of the preview on Twitter:
In contrast, the first teaser for The Force Awakens was merely a roll call of all the new characters appearing in the movie, and we never even got to see what Harrison Ford looked like as Han Solo until the second teaser. The whole preview lineup for The Force Awakens was actually pretty clever in hyping everyone up for the movie without giving too much away (*ahem* looking at you Spider-Man: Homecoming).
With the description of the "full trailer" I'm guessing that Lucasfilm is ready to show what happens next in the story without needing to introduce any of the new characters. It would make sense that the studio would be more eager to show more this time around, seeing that everyone already has an idea on where the Star Wars universe is right now.
Star Wars Celebration runs from April 13–16, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters Dec. 15.
