Ex-Deadpool 2 Director Tim Miller Said His Sequel Originally Included F4's The Thing

Tim Miller had found success when he helmed the first Deadpool movie, but he didn't return for the sequel over creative differences. With him promoting the release of his next movie, Terminator: Dark Fate, he talks a bit about his original plans for the sequel.

Talking to The Playlist's podcast Fourth Wall, Miller reveals that he had some insane ideas for his Deadpool sequel. For one, the movie would have included Cable, but he would be 6 foot 7 inches tall, going for comic accuracy. What's more, it would have had the Fantastic Four's Thing go up against the Juggernaut rather than Colossus. Miller was even said to have gotten the greenlight from the higher-ups before he left the project.

It's also worth mentioning that Miller would have delved more into Vanessa's (Morena Baccarin) storyline, having her fully form as Copycat and giving her a "far richer character arc." If you ask me, she was kind of just a prop for the first Deadpool film, and she was the same for the sequel, with the movie killing and then unkilling her by the end.

When news came out of Miller leaving years ago, it was said that he had disagreed with Ryan Reynolds and the writers who had wanted to keep to the down-to-Earth feel of the first movie. We'll never know what Miller's vision would have ultimately looked like, but people seem to like David Leitch's Deadpool 2 just fine.

For now, you can catch Miller's Terminator: Dark Fate which comes out Nov. 1.
