Just over a month after Season 3 began on the streaming service, Paramount+ announced the renewal of Evil Season 4.

The lead character in the horror-thriller series is Dr. Kristen Bouchard, played by Katja Herbers. She is a forensic psychologist who teams up with Mike Colter's David Acosta, a former journalist pursuing ordination as a Catholic priest, to look into cases that may have supernatural or demonic connections.

With sinister ties to demonic forces and a target on Kristen and David, Michael Emerson's villainous Dr. Leland Townsend plays a pivotal role in the evil that swirls around their tangled relationship, their religion, and the evil that revolves around Kristen and David.

Evil continues to be a critical hit for the platform, as well as one of its top performers, according to Paramount+, who credits it with attracting new users.

“EVIL continues to expand its fanbase of both critics and viewers alike; season three currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and it is a consistent top-five most-watched original series and acquisition driver for the service,” Paramount+ Original Scripted Series President Nicole Clemens said about the renewal.

Evil Settling in on New Home

Evil was originally created by The Good Fight's Robert and Michelle King for CBS. After experiencing delays due to COVID, Evil moved to Paramount+ for Season 2 in 2021 and got even more praise than its first foray for its more daring writing and scary cases.

There was a lot of anticipation for Evil Season 3's release this past June due to the cliffhanger ending of the previous season, trailers promising wilder cases, and George's return, a fan favorite. It may not come as a surprise to some that Paramount+ has approved Evil Season 4, given that the most recent season of the show once again raised the mark in terms of ratings compared to its predecessors.
