Evangeline Lilly Preferred Filming Ant-Man Over Ant-Man and The Wasp

Fans were very happy when Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne was able to spread her wings (ha!) during Ant-Man and The Wasp. Hope's character was more fleshed out and was able to kick more butt than in the first movie, where her only action scene was punching Scott Lang in the face. Most people would assume that Lilly liked filming the sequel more but that is not the case.

During Fan Expo Canada (via FTW vs WTF) Lilly revealed that she preferred filming her scenes in Ant-Man over Ant-Man and The Wasp for one simple reason; she can be controlling. The Lost actress revealed that she liked being able to have most of the control over her character in the first, whereas in the sequel she has to share Hope with stunt doubles.

"You guys are going to be so disappointed by my answer. I enjoyed filming Ant-Man more than I enjoyed filming Ant-Man and the Wasp. It was particularly tough forme, because I am controlling. And I had to share this character suddenly with an entire team of people, from a huge team of stunt people -- I had three stunt women on the movie. [I had to share] with the special effects team, with the editors, with the post-production team, with the producers and the director. Everybody had so much more of a say, and work to do, to create this character, that I felt like, at the end of the day, like I was responsible for 25% of her. And that was so hard for me to let go of control and just say 'Okay, I trust you guys and I'm sure it's going to be amazing.' I kept kind of grasping, like 'No! Give her back! I wanna do everything!' So Ant-Man was more fun for me."

It's a surprising, yet funny reason for her to prefer playing as Hope in Ant-Man since the heroine is much more prominent in the sequel. She not only shares the title name with her co-lead but also gets to participate in a number of entertaining fight scenes, particularly the ones with Ghost. This is definitely a shocking answer but it's nice seeing the actress be honest.

Ant-Man and The Wasp will be coming to hit Blu-ray and digital services soon.
